Yeva Dashevsky was born in  Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in 1988. She came to America at the age of 7, and has lived in New York since 1999. Yeva entered filmmaking with a background in acting and theatre, having trained with off-Broadway pioneer Gene Frankel and acting great Anne Jackson. 
After receiving an Associate in the Arts Degree from Bard High School Early College, Yeva completed a summer filmmaking course at New York University where she wrote and directed five 16mm short films in addition to serving as cinematographer on a number of 16mm shorts.

Yeva’s debut feature, Trolleydodgers, is currently in post-production and set to be completed in March 2009. Tracking five characters over the span of one very late night, Trolleydodgers is a nocturnal portrait of Bensonhurst, Brooklyn and its inhabitants.

In collaboration with talented actors and crew, Yeva creates characters, builds scenes, and tells stories.

As of January 2009, work has begun on Yeva’s second feature, RICH, a chronicle of two teenage runways in Baltimore, Maryland. This project is slated for production in September 2009. trolleydodgers.htmlrich.htmlshapeimage_1_link_0shapeimage_1_link_1
